Wyn Davies
Wyn Davies was arguably one of Newcastle United’s best players during the 1960’s, he was a permanent fixture in the starting line up. Wyn Davies was born in the year 1942 and was a huge fan of the game from childhood, his most memorable moment playing in a Newcastle shirt would have to be regarded as his heroic performance during their victory in the 1969 Fairs cup final.
Bryan ‘Pop’ Robson
Robson began his career at Newcastle and found success in 1969, helping the Geordies in winning the 1969 Fairs Cup final. His partnership upfront with Wyn Davies was dynamic throughout the late 60’s period. He moved to West Ham United in February 1971 for £120,000 and he was honoured as their best player for the season by the end of the 92-93 campaign. In July 1974 he returned to the north – east of England, this time playing for Sunderland. He returned to West Ham in October 1976, in total he played for the Hammers on 254 occasions and he scored 104 goals for the club in the process.
